Dragonlance Nexus News Issue #53: 7/17/2006

Greetings, friends and fellow companions, and welcome back to the Inn of the Last Home. It's been fairly busy at the inn with news of Ansalon coming in from all directions.

So grab your hoopaks, my friends. The portal to adventure awaits!

After years of rumor and speculation, the Dragonlance movie has become reality. The movie will be an animated movie, combining classic 2D animation with 3D computer animation. Margaret and Tracy have been very involved, so much so that they will make cameos in the movie! Dragons of Autumn Twilight will be released in autumn 2007, though it is uncertain if that is to the theaters or straight to DVD.

So who's starring in this blockbuster-in-the-making? The big star is none other than Kiefer Sutherland as the voice of Raistlin! There's also Lucy Lawless of Xena fame as the voice of Goldmoon, as well as Michael Rosenbaum as the voice of Tanis Half-Elven. For more information, visit .

Dragons of the Dwarven Depths, book one of the Lost Chronicles trilogy by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, has been released. Margaret and Tracy are going on a book tour, where they are doing special podcasts of the Q&A sessions. You can find the dates and locations of the book tour on the Nexus. The podcasts can be heard through Tracy Hickman's Dragonhearth podcast, at Dragonhearth Productions .

Remember that you can support the Nexus by buying a copy of Dragons of the Dwarven Depths through the site! Proceeds go towards keeping the Nexus alive and well on the web.

Knightly Orders of Ansalon has recently been released in PDF format, and will soon be released in print format. This book, co-authored by yours truly, details the Knights of Solamnia, Dark Knights, and Legion of Steel, giving several new options.

This summer sees the first ever NexusCon take place. Masterminded by B'naa and supported by the Dragonlance Nexus, this weeklong convention, which starts July 17th, will be an online event and it will feature many Dragonlance icons such as Nancy Varian Berberick (July 21st), Mary Herbert (July 20th), Doug Clark (July 18th), Todd Lockwood (July 19th), Jennifer Meyer (July 19th), and the guys from Sovereign Press (July 17th) – the producers of the official d20 Dragonlance gaming products.

In addition there will be workshops, all focusing on Dragonlance. We will host an art workshop with Dragonlance as the main topic as well as a so-called ICRP (In-Character Role Playing) workshop in which veterans of the ICRP section of the official Dragonlance forums will give tips and advice useful to everyone interested in playing Dragonlance characters.

If you're interested in attending this weeklong event check out the following thread on the Dragonlance forums. The events of the NexusCon are posted there as well as when they'll take place. We hope to see you there!

I hope that all of you will join us on the message boards to discuss these topics and more. Until next time!
