Lady Walter On The Run
by Darcwulf, Staff Writer
Palanthas - This week a witness came forth with evidence proving Lady Harriet Walter is in league with a faction of the Knights of Neraka.
After several weeks of rumours and speculations, this past Majetag a witness approached the Palanthas guard with evidence that Lady Harriet Walker, a Palanthian noblewoman , is indeed a traitor.
"The witness, a prominent merchant, has continent wide business contacts," said Morris Sheppard. "This individual, who for safety's sake will remain anonymous, has ships leaving Palanthas for all parts, all the time. Lady Walker threatened to kill the witness's children if this person didn't smuggle messages, packages, weapons and even people for her. To back up his story, the witness provided some communiqués that Lady Walter recently ordered delivered. With this new information City Guardmen were able to uncover several weapons caches and even further evidence of Lady Walter's treason."
The weapons cache's which were confiscated for the use of the rebels, included mundane swords and shields, bows and arrows. More alarmingly they also included magical items like wands that shoot lightning or fire. Extensive examination by the Kingfishers revealed that they were created by the Knights of the Thorn.
Amstern Chesney, a high ranked Steel Legionnaire assigned to Palanthas and former spokesman for the Emperor, led the taskforce that was sent to arrest Lady Walter. "Lady Walter was expecting us," Chesney told the Herald. "She had booby trapped her home. I suspect she had always been planning for this day, just in case things went wrong. By the time we got safely in she was long gone. Legion sources have heard rumours that she is still in the city, most probably hiding in the dwarven ruins beneath the city."
The witness and his family are being protected by the Steel Legion and other loyal forces.
Lady Walter is after revenge, the witness and the witness's family needs protection.
