Wizards Search for Scales of Revelation

Plains of Dust – The Wizards of High Sorcery have mounted a search for a group of renegade sorcerers known as the Scales of Revelation. These sorcerers are rumored to have built a tower somewhere in the Plains of Dust and are working with strange gold dragons.

"The Scales of Revelation are a dangerous group," commented Jaclyn Cashell, Red Robe historian. "They were once wizards, but have turned their back on the gods of Magic for forbidden rituals that can only be obtained through Wild Sorcery. They are working with 3 – 5 gold dragons who have allowed their hides to be covered by 'kyrygrams' – arcane geometric patterns that allow the casters to form a bond similar to that which the sorcerer Ulin Majere has formed with the gold dragon Sunrise. We know little of these 'hidecarved' dragons and are approaching things cautiously."

According to Cashell, these renegades focus the magic from the dragons into arcane spells that are recorded in triangle-shaped books covered in dragon hide. The Conclave has no information at this time how sorcerers are using these books, or what the intentions of the Scales of Revelation are.

"Every time there's a renegade, the Conclave just assumes it has to be an 'evil sorcerer'," Legion of Steel sorcerer Cole said. "Yeah, we sorcerers make mistakes. I know this first hand from when I got duped into working for a Dark Knight. But you know, sometimes sorcerers do good things too, such as working with the Legion of Steel. These are gold dragons we're talking about. They're good dragons, and aren't going to do any harm. More than likely, this is just more Conclave propaganda fueled by the Black Robes. If the wizards were really concerned about dragons, they should look towards Cristyne or Nordmaar."
