Palanthas - Reports are coming in from across Ansalon of sorcerers organizing and fighting back against the Wizards of High Sorcery.
Numerous reports are coming in from across the continent detailing the sorcerers' accounts at resisting the efforts of the Towers in wiping them out. In Khuri-Khan sorcerers managed to seal a building where a large number of Renegade Hunters were meeting and burn it to the ground. In Tarsis twenty-seven Primal Annihilators, Renegade hunters trained to specifically hunt sorcerers, have been killed. Whoever is doing this, displays the body by hanging them from street posts by their belt, the band of cloth the Annihilators use to symbolize their allegiance to a specific order of Wizardry. Wizards are disappearing, never to be heard from again, all across the land from Gwynedd to Silvanost, Garnet to Nethosak, Qualinost to Kalaman.
Here in Palanthas two disturbing incidents have taken place, firstly last Palast night the Palanthian Mageware Shop exploded.
"Twas horrific," said Dawn Resnic whose home is but a short distance away. "Twas so loud youse felt it in ya's bones. I thought de Gods were visiting 'nother catty-clysum on us, I dids."
It is not known at this time if anybody was in the building or not. Neighbors did say that the apprentices that were undergoing training there were moved into the Palanthas Tower for their protection by Guerrand DiThon, Master of the Tower.
Alarmingly for the Orders, the Tower has not proved to be as safe as once thought. Bakukal night a small band of sorcerers attempted to gain entry.
"I don't know how they managed to get so close to that fearful place," said Heinrich Yhronic of the Palanthas Guard. "I stood firm against the fear of dragons at the Battle of the High Clerists Tower, but I can't get close to that place. Apparently they tried to burn down the grove first, but even magic fire doesn't seem to be able to do that. They did manage to sink a few of the trees by turning the ground into mud, but that was about it. That was when they started lobbing spells at the Tower itself. Their lightening bolts blasted a few holes but it was those fiery rocks that one called down from the skies that did the damage. Blasted away the top part, several floors at least, I'd say."
The sorcerers fled when the Palanthas guard arrived near the scene.
Unsubstantiated rumors say that the sorcerers are leading their resistance from a flying citadel that managed to survive the War of the Lance and indeed there have been several sightings of a flying citadel by credible witnesses. These terrifying war machines were created by the evil genius of Highlord Ariakas.
It appears that the wizards who had hoped for a quick victory against the sorcerers may face more of a challenge than they expected.
