Takhisis's Armies at Gates of Palanthas

Palanthas - The armies of the Dark Queen are poised before the gates awaiting the signal to launch the final assault on the last bastion of Light.

The forces of the evil Dragon Highlord's after having conquered the rest of Ansalon, are encamped before the walls of Palanthas preparing to launch the final battle. The almost limitless legions of elven knights, archers and infantry are all thirsting for the only non-elven blood left on the continent and their flights of dragons and giant vultures fill the sky blocking out the sun. Meanwhile within the city's walls, the remnants of the Knights of Solamnia and surviving members of the Orders of High Sorcery are organizing all the forces they can, but few if any believe there is any hope for survival left.

"We shall fight until we can fight no more," said Tanis Half-Elven, Knight of the Rose and commander of the military forces. "The elven peoples call us impure and unclean. We will show these servants of the Dark Queen the might, the courage and heart of the impure and unclean - with cold, hard and very sharp steel. They may well kill every mother's son of us, but we will take most of the black hearted wretches with us!"

"We have a surprise for the treehuggers," said Flint Fireforge, a white robe and head of the Conclave. "We have created new magic, five crystal orbs, which should have a potent effect on the doorknobs pet lizards. They will feel the might of the arcane power of the Orders of High Sorcery. Through us, they will come to know fear!"

"We must not give up all hope," said Revered Son Derek Crownguard, High Priest of Paladine. "I hold faith to the vision Paladine has granted me of metallic dragons and dragonlances, - they are real. We must trust in each other, but more, we must trust in Paladine and the other Gods of good."

The hopes of all Palanthas rest on three fantasies, unproven rumors that say the reason the elves have not yet attacked is because Emperor Lorac Caladon has ordered his favorite Highlords, Alhana Starbreeze of the Red and Lauralanthalasa Kanan of the Blue to investigate the existence of the good dragons, the legendary Dragonlances and a large army of horned men, reputed to be the mythical minotaur.
