Solace - Apprentice magic user Raistlin Majere in a fit of rage attempted to murder his twin, Caramon.

This past Kirinor evening Raistlin Majere, an aspiring wizard, was supping in the Inn of the Last Home with a group of long time companions, including Tanis Half-Elven, Flint Fireforge, Tasslehoff Burrfoot, Kitiara uth Matar and Sturm Brightblade. They were seated around a table enjoying the Inn's famous spicy potatoes when heated words were spoken resulting in Raistlin drawing a dagger and stabbing his brother. Fortunately for Caramon the weapon became ensnared in his chainmail armor, so the injury was only minor.

Neither Caramon Majere nor any of the others who were at the dinner would comment on the events of the meal, but Otik Sandeth, proprietor of The Inn of the Last Home had this to say. "Tanis, Flint and the rest having a great time like everyone else here that night. Well except Raistlin, he never seems to enjoy anything ever, too tightly wound that one, needs to relax and enjoy a cup of good ale. He was going off on one of his usual bitter sermons, when his brother said something to him. Raistlin's eyes bulged and he drew his dagger on Caramon, but thankfully my Tika was there and whacked him over the head with her skillet before he could do too much damage. Saved young Caramon's life I reckon."

At first the fiery young waitress Tika Waylan was reluctant to talk to the Herald. "I'm not sure Caramon would like me talking to you," said Tika. "He is rather protective when it comes to his brother, though goodness knows why. Yes, I know, Raistlin is weak and sickly, but he is also cruel and vindictive. He is smarter than anyone else I know, which he thinks gives him the right to use and abuse anybody he wants, which of course usually means Caramon, who normally takes it all without so much as flinching. He finally got sick of his brothers trash, calls Raistlin on it and gets stabbed." Realising that she'd revealed many of the details already, Tika elaborated on the initial incident.

"Caramon, Tanis, Flint and the rest were just talking about their future, things they'd like to do, places they'd like to go, when Tas made the mistake of asking Raistlin about his plans. Raistlin went into his old rant about showing everybody how much better he is than any of them. Well Caramon he finally got fed up and said, "Oh grow up and get over yourself you big baby." I was so proud of him, but Raistlin wasn't, he pulled his dagger and stabbed him. And he would've stabbed him again and again, if I hadn't clobbered him with me skillet!"

Raistlin Majere's trial is scheduled to take place in two weeks.
