Bandits on the South Road
by Sticko, Staff Writer
Palanthas - This week several highway men held up trade carts heading south from the city.
Three merchants and a tradesman have been robbed on the road to the High Clerist's Tower. In all accounts no one was harmed the group of bandits surrounded the caravans and seized valuables before taking off.
Calls have been made that the city watch should flush out this group before the problem becomes worse. Other partitions by leading merchants such as the Lock family have been aimed at the Knights of Solamnia.
Daren Farlow a traveling merchant did the run last month said "if the High Clerist's Tower was rebuilt and garrisoned this would never accrue"
"While Christina Appguard's comment in the street that "if the dark knights were still here then the bandits heads would be on pikes at the gate house, we all know what they did to the thieves guild."
Rumors that the bandits could somehow be linked to the infamous Rome family have been circulating around the Forum putting pressure on the Emperor to garrison the southern road as soon as possible. Even though only merchants have been targeted many common folk may decide that the road is now too dangerous.
The representative at the Knights head quarters have refused to comment on any commitment to the protection of the roads. Sources suggested that the knighthood is already spread thin with both the 2nd and 5th legion abroad perhaps the expanding Empire is stretching to far.
So far the Bandits have not harmed anyone but will this last or will the bandits grow bolder. Let us hope that someone is sent to deal with this problem soon.
