Storm Wreaks Havoc in Palanthas
by Heine Stick, Staff Writer
Palanthas - The city of Palanthas was ravaged by what appears to be a magical storm on Misham.
The storm came out of nowhere and on a day that had up until the storm's appearance been sunny and warm. Dozens of houses and shops were destroyed by the fierce winds and lightning bolts set buildings on fire. Amazingly enough, city authorities report that very few people were injured during the storm and even fewer died. So far the body count is five.
"We have no clue what caused this storm but we do know that it wasn't natural," said Minas Turoskar, City Guard spokeswoman. "We've never had storms this severe in the winter months and we'd heard no reports from sailors or weather experts that a storm was approaching. We suspect that magic was involved and we're looking into that possibility with the aid of five Wizards of High Sorcery..
The theory that the storm was magical is supported by several witnesses who report that they heard chanting carried on the winds of the storm and others who report seeing vague shapes flying in the storm.
The authorities claim that they have some leads which they currently following up on, including the so-called prophet of the Mage-God who appeared during the storm and disappeared shortly after.
