Prophet of the Mage-god Stirs up City
by Kendermage, Staff Writer
Palanthas – A man claiming to be the Prophet of Raistlin, the Mage-God has appeared out of nowhere to stir up the city.
On the eve of Misham last, Palanthas was deluged by a fierce thunderstorm. The storm tore down trees, ripped roofs off of houses, and lightning even struck a fountain in the Central Plaza; shattering it.
After the storm, a wild-eyed man in black robes was seen harassing passers-by. According to witnesses, the man appeared disoriented and badly burned. One of the witnesses, Torvald Jergen, a tobacco merchant from Coastlund, told the Herald, "He was wild-eyed and stank of burned cloth and sweat. His clothes were badly singed; barely held together by more than a few stitches."
"He ran to and fro as one confused, accosting everyone he met and blabbering about being a cleric of Raistlin and how he had survived the destruction of the world. I shoved him away from me. If you ask me, we've far too many loonies in Palanthas already. We certainly don't need another one."
"Jergen went on to describe how the man ran laughing into the night, proclaiming in a loud voice that "this world too will end!"
A search was conducted by the City Guard but could turn up no trace of the strange man.
