Academy Plans Receive Boost

Palanthas – The plans to set up a sorcerous academy, tentatively called the Academy of Palanthas by the plan's sponsors, received a boost yesterday when envoys returned from the Citadel of Light on Schallsea. This reporter can exclusively reveal that the envoys had been dispatched with an offer to the Citadel to open the proposed academy's doors to both sorcerers and to mystics.

Notable sorcerer, Hickutakl, brimmed with joy as he announced that the envoys had brought back a 'promising' result from the Citadel. Should the Citadel agree to pledge support for Hickutakl's plans, it could mean that the academy could be open within months.

Hickutakl also acknowledged that the original proposed site for the academy was no longer an option. "After speaking with the Senate and other notable officials and nobles of Palanthas, it's been decided that such an academy, no matter how important it could be to a small portion of the population, cannot function in the heart of the city," said Hickutakl. "The chance of the magic going awry is too great and could endanger innocent civilians."

However, Hickutakl has put forward a counter plan that would see the academy ground being situated in the hills above the Old Temple District. A move that has gained the support of many senators, hoping to see a surge in investment into that dilapidated area of Palanthas.
