Dwarves Remember the Fallen of the Chaos War
by Gerrin, Staff Writer
Palanthas - Dwarves throughout the city this past Misham wore dark sashes on their left arms in remembrance of all who perished in the Chaos War. This is in accordance to the dwarven holiday of Anerell. The holiday was created the summer after the Chaos War.
"We are just trying to show the folks we still remember," Reghar Firehammer, a representative of the Garnet Mining Company said. "To many humans the Chaos War is a thing of the distant past. To us who lived through it or fought in it, we still remember how real it is."
The city's dwarf population met today in the Garnet Mining Company's exchange office in the Trade Exchange. They held a ceremony in which they read the names of all the dwarves from Palanthas that fell. After finishing the reading the dwarves rang gongs in remembrance of all who have been forgotten.
"It's a tough thing to go through for some of these fellows," Firehammer said. "I know several folks who do not have mothers or fathers but yet they must because they are here. We bang the gongs so that they know that we haven't forgotten them, even though we have."
