Nightlund – A trade caravan, belonging to the influential Palanthian trader Marsuc Stealling, was attacked and decimated in the early hours of the morning by what was described by one of the few survivors as "a mass of shambling dead, lead by an armored minotaur, wreathed in green flames, riding a great horned fell beast.

Ionuata Springdrinker, local guide and survivor of the attack, said "You could fell the cold and dread sweep over you, numbing your hands and mind!" Springdrinker went on to describe the strange minotaur lead assault on the caravan as being horrific and "a scene straight out of the Abyss."

The caravan, or what was left of it, was discovered by a contingent of Solamnic Knights, lead by Clerist Michael Uth Diveer, whowere tracking goblin bandits when they stumbled on the caravan.

"When we arrived the scene was total carnage," says Diveer, "Bodies burned and mutilated, strewn all over the area. Pack animals were dismembered, their cargo charred or spread about, and all the while the sickening feeling of great evil all around you."

After spending hours performing the last rites and burying the corpses as well as tending to the injured, the Solamnic Knights escorted the survivors back to Kalaman.

Stealling, alarmed by this strange undead attack and the mysterious minotaur leader, has asked for more Solamnic patrols in the area to help protect his valuable cargo.
