Gold Lancer Clerist Honored in State Funeral
by Trampas Whiteman, Staff Writer
Palanthas – The Knights of Solamnia pay tribute to one of their own today as they lay Sir Thomas Silversword to rest at a state funeral, to be held at the Temple of Kiri-Jolith at Twelfth Watch.
"Silversword sacrificed himself during the recent battle with the Storm Knights," Merrick uth Drastin, Captain of the Gold Lancers, said. "He had rushed into a burning house to rescue a child. He was able to lower the child to the ground by tying a blanket around the child and lowering it. Unfortunately, he was not able to get out in time before the building collapsed. We...we just couldn't get there in time. It was too late."
"All of us were so busy with the Storm Knights that we didn't even see the little girl," Lady Janice Thasally, Gold Lancer, said. "They say we are heroes for what we did in Milas. We are nothing of the kind. Thomas...he was the true hero. He gave everything for the life of a child.
Silversword's funeral will be conducted by Lady Merinda uth Brishard of the Order of Clerists. The Lord Regent will not be in attendance, though he has sent his condolences to Silversword's family. Silversword will be buried with honors in the Temple of Kiri-Jolith.
