Magical Red Lights Invade Golden Estates

Palanthas - Last night the Palanthians living in the Golden Estates were witnesses to a strange event as hundreds of thousands of small red lights blanketed the neighborhood in a bright red light.

Locals report that the lights started appearing at Last Watch, steadily increasing in numbers until, at the Restful Hour, the lights vanished. Although no one was injured or worse during this strange event, several witnesses have reported being "run through" by the lights.

"Me and me husband were walking like we always do at that hour. Those lights came out of nowhere, twisting and turning and darting through the air, creating the most beautiful trail of red light!" said Misty Moonburn. "I've don't think I've ever seen anything quite so beautiful in me life. One of the lights passed right through Bryan."

"Aye, 'tis true! The bugger passed right me," added Bryan Moonburn, Golden Estates resident. "It created this warm, pleasant feeling within me and it put my delicate heart at ease. A friend of mine told me that the same thing happened to him and it cured his cold!"

Whether or not the red lights actually had any curative abilities is doubtful and experts are worried by this sudden boom in unexplainable magical events.

"On Misham, it was the Shadow Tower and last night these strange lights. We fear that this might be the work of sinister powers and we take it very seriously," said Chance Forityn, White Robe wizard. "Fortunately, one of my colleagues was able to capture one of these lights with a magic spell and we intend to spend the next couple of days studying the thing."

Sources within the Senate claim that the city's political organ is currently working on a plan which should strengthen the city's defenses against magical phenomena, some of which could have malicious purposes.
