Palanthian Merchants Arrested in Tarsis
by Heine Stick, Staff Writer
Palanthas - On Linaras, the Merchants Guild gathered for what can only be described as a crisis meeting after two merchants based in Palanthas were apprehended by Tarsis authorities, accused of smuggling contraband into the city.
According to a source within the guild, it was decided unanimously to support the two merchants, sending three attorneys to Tarsis to speak the merchants' case. The Merchants Guild has refused to give the names of the two merchants in question. However, according to our source, the two merchants are closely affiliated with the Their family.
This is an outrage!" declared Gasta Greenflame, Palanthian merchant specializing in textiles, when confronted by the Herald. "I mean, why would two merchants from Palanthas travel across the continent just to smuggle illegal goods? By the Silver Mistress, that preposterous!"
In addition to sending three attorneys to Tarsis, the Merchants Guild has filed a formal protest to the Senate, demanding that action be taken. "We cannot live with the fact that two of our friends, loyal citizens of Palanthas, are being wrongfully accused of ridiculous crimes," said chairwoman of the guild, Jena Uth Korrin.
