Gigantic Wolf Sighted in Gwynned
by Paul Record, Staff Writer
Gwynned - A large "pony-sized" wolf has been seen in Gwynned this week at least six times, citizens said.
"It had these ghostly green eyes, black fur and a grey pattern on its chest," said Corin Benoit, a local tanner." The wolf moved in the shadows and it seemed to be looking for someone because it stopped in front of several houses."
Sightings of wolves in Gwynned are not uncommon, said Kepi Du Blanc, an imperial officer of the Ergothian Cavaliers.
"Imperial scout teams often work with the Imperial Guard, serving as their eyes and ears. The scout team walks out in front, looking for traps, bolt holes, hidden caches of lakrak and weapons, assassins etc. The Imperial Scouts use wolfs in place of dogs," he said.
"Typically the wolf stays close to its handler, but sometimes wanders or runs off. Highly intelligent, they often like to exercise their independent streak," he said.
Blanc noted that three weeks ago, Dermount River hamlets were suffering attacks from wild packs of wolves, probably because of lack of food and this could be a rogue from one of the wild packs.
"This sighting was probably a fluke of some kind, but there's another possible explanation," Blanc said.
"It might be that a scout angered Canus, a god the scouts worship. Maybe the wolf god has come seeking this rogue pup who, when found, will be very sorry," he said.
