The Grand Palanthian Ball to Take Place This Week
by Heine Stick, Staff Writer
Palanthas - Two days from now, the biggest social event of the spring will take place when the Uth Redoc family invites nobles, successful merchants, and other prominent citizens of Palanthas to a grand ball. The Grand Palanthian Ball, which is said to have been held for the first time shortly after Vinas Solamnus dubbed the city Palanthas, is legendary and an event every prominent citizen with respect for himself must visit. This year is no exception.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to go this year," said Iolana Their, daughter of trade tycoon Yanis Their. "They say Coryn the White will attend this year's ball! Imagine that! Coryn the White! I mean, she's just so...so...awesome!"
Traditionally, the Uth Redoc family hires the best musicians and entertainers for this event but this year seems a bit of a gamble for the family because, according to sources within the Uth Redoc household, they have invited students from the Bardic College at the Song of Life Tavern to come and entertain the guests."
"Apparently, Mrs Uth Redoc has taken a liking to the students after she visited the tavern a few weeks ago," said the source. "It's rumored that Mrs Uth Redoc is donating a large sum of steel in exchange for the students' services for one evening."
Among this year's most notable quests will be Lord Regent Bakkard du Chagne along with daughter Selinda du Chagne, Coryn the White, and Mistress Jenna of Palanthas.
