Murderous Minstrels Destroy Entire Village

Estbrook – Tragedy struck last week as an entire hamlet was destroyed by a terrible force of evil. The troupe of vampiric bards known as the Murderous Minstrels are still at large despite numerous attempts to capture and kill them, and , according to Solamnic Auxiliary Mage Roxana Terron, more are added to their ranks each day.

Terron reports that last week the Murderous Minstrels attacked the hamlet of Estbrook south of Thelgaard. There are signs of battle in the hamlet but no corpses have been found. In all, 150 villagers have vanished and this worries the Auxiliary mage.

"This is devastating news, a tragedy in itself," Terron said. "However, we fear that things could get much worse. If the vampires have stopped merely killing and feeding and are now exclusively increasing their numbers, then the troupe will grow into an army and fast. Action must be taken to avert this crisis. To this end, several Solamnic Auxillary Mages, myself included, have banded together to form a group which will specialize hunting the minions of Chemosh. We will work closely with our allies to make sure that this threat is located and eliminated."

So far the vampires have remained cloaked from divination attempts, and no one knows just how many there are travelling around Solamnia right now. Roxana Terron fears that there is some dark purpose to the actions of the Murderous Minstrels. "So far we haven't been able to discern their goals and motivations but we're working hard to find information that can help us."

"The only thing we know about these vampires' whereabouts is where they have been and, from the trail of devastation they have left behind, we know that they're moving towards Northern Solamnia. Many fear that Palanthas will be their final target."
