Alleged Killer Claims Legal Immunity
by Kendermage, Staff Writer
Palanthas - After nearly two months of searching, the one-eyed man, suspected of killing Gaston Antiquitus while the merchant was in City Guard custody, has been captured.
Acting on an anonymous tip, Captain Abraham Silvercrown and several members of his taskforce raided a dockside warehouse. Several watchmen report that when the doors were kicked open authorities were surprised to see the one-eyed man just standing with arms crossed, like he was waiting for them. They were doubly surprised to see him present a badge identifying himself as a Solamnic Inquisitor.
According to one guard participating in the arrest, the one-eyed man was rather arrogant even as he was arrested. "You have no jurisdiction to hold me," the man is reported to have claimed. "This has nothing to do with the city of Palanthas but everything to do with the continued existence of the Knights of Solamnia. I acted on higher orders than any mere city law." According to the watchman, the one-eyed man made no further comment as he as taken into custody. Among the items found at the scene were forgery tools, a case book, and several vellum scrolls, which greatly resembled those found in the person of slain merchant Gaston Antiquitus.
Captain Silvercrown and his guards declined to comment further, citing the on-going investigation.
