City Senate Approves O.R.C. Funding
by Trampas Whiteman, Staff Writer
The City Senate has approved a bill that would allow for city funding of O.R.C. (Ogres Really Care), a not-for-profit organization founded on the principles of co-existence with ogres through sensitivity training.
"Ogres, like many of us, are misunderstood," City Senator Mymis Taik said. "Underneath that rough exterior lies a warm, cuddly inside. That's why I voted for O.R.C. It's sensitivity training for the brutal beast!"
"We ogres have often been portrayed in a negative light," spokesogre Grushk said. "We poor ogres are often seen as the brutes from the Fourth Age. While there is some minor truth to these allegations, know that any act of brutality was done for the sake of survival. You can't fault us for that!"
"Today's ogres," Grushk continues, "is the very model of sophistication. We realize now how we have hurt people, and we want to make it up. We are no longer ogres. We are O.R.C.s. We care!"
As proof of their good intentions, the O.R.C.s plan on a barbeque for the people of Palanthas, to be held in the former lair of the red dragon Flagratius this Bracha at noon-hour.
