Anti-Mind Reading Demonstrators Damage City Guard Outposts

Palanthas - Two City Guard watchposts and one mageware shop were vandalized last week to protest the mind-reading bill currently before the Palanthas Senate.

Slogans reading "To the Abyss with Halliwell" and "Our Minds, Our Thoughts" were painted in red paint on the walls and shop front of the respective buildings, said Richard uth Koeckert, a spokesman for the City Guard.

"The city of Palanthas recognizes a person's right to express their opinion freely," Koeckert said. "However, we encourage citizens to do it in a peaceful responsible manner; one that does not damage other people's property."

The bill, proposed two weeks ago by Solamnic Auxiliary Mage Grayson Halliwell, would legalize mind-reading by authorized magic-users at all Palanthas city entrances.

"This would greatly reduce the occurrences of criminal activity," said Halliwell, in a previous interview with The Palanthas Herald.

The vandalized buildings have been restored by gully dwarf street cleaners. None of the buildings suffered any permanent damage.

Anyone with information regarding the identities of the vandals should contact the City Guard immediately.
