Promising Blue Wheat Becomes a Nightmare

Solace - The mysterious blue wheat harvested by Solace farmers has gone from miracle flour to cursed powder. The blue wheat, which seemed like a valuable asset to the bakers of the Solace area, has turned into a nightmare.

Solace officials report that all four bakeries using the blue flour and the mill in Gateway used to process the blue wheat all went up in blue flames yesterday morning. As if the livelihood of the bakers and the miller going up in blue flames wasn't enough, several Solace citizens, all of whom have eaten bread sold from the now destroyed bakeries, claim that they can only see the color blue.

"This is a disaster!" said Bren Wicker, one of the bakers whose business is now in ruins. "We should never have used that cursed flour! But what can we do? These are desperate times for us what with the fields yielding very few usable crops."

"The blue wheat was so promising," said Carol Wicker, wife of Bren Wicker. "The flour worked extremely well for us and it quickened production tremendously. They even say that the bread we made could heal! And now has ruined us."

Loaves of the bread baked using the blue wheat are now being examined by representatives from the Tower of High Sorcery in Wayreth. While they have not made an official statement yet, it is widely rumored that foul sorcery is at play here in Solace.
