Palanthas - Emissaries from the newly expanded Imperial Academy of Ergoth arrived in Palanthas this past week, seeking to establish training and testing facilities. This college as they call it would actively seek out gifted individuals throughout both the noble born and commons whom might qualify for a so called "Higher Education."

Within hours of the Ergothian delegation's arrival a delegation from Wayreth arrived, led by Sir Alastor of Palanthas, a notable member of the Solamnic Auxiliary, and former Warmage of Northbridge as well as one mage wearing the Black Robes and one wearing the Red Robes. Sources close to the Lord Regent state that the wizards delegation came in protest to the Academy looking to locate and train individuals gifted with the ability to use sorcery, a proscribed magic according to the tower. While dialogue between Lord Regent Du Chagne and the representatives from both the Academy and the Conclave seemed cordial, many attendants noticed that the representative from the Black order was quite antagonistic, frequently interrupting Sir Alastor, and using derogatory remarks to describe the various "heresies unto magic".

The delegation from Ergoth offers to build an annex to the Univeristy of Palanthas at no cost to the city, which would offer courses in agriculture, finance, herbals and healing. Students that show exceptional talent would be sent to Ergoth for additional training, those individuals that cannot afford advanced education could be sponsored by guilds, private individuals, or the government itself, special tuitions would of course be offered for exceptional individuals, who would otherwise be unable to attend. It is another provision that individuals who show talent in mysticism or sorcery be trained, as the Academy feels that an untrained user is a danger to oneself. It is this provision that the Conclave objects to so strongly, stating that the Academy is a den of renegades, who should be turned over to the Conclave for judgment.

The Lord Regent has been quoted that he is "amiable to the agreement with Ergoth, and hopes to see an influx in trade and knowledge.
