Shadow Tower Sighted on Yule
by Trampas Whiteman, Staff Writer
PALANTHAS – A shadow was literally cast over Palanthas this last yule as once again, the Shadow Tower appeared. Recently, we reported that an individual identified as the Shadow Sorcerer, reportedly the mortal form of the goddess Takhisis, appeared.
"We have not yet been able to ascertain the identity of this Shadow Sorcerer," City Guard official Dalfin Reven said. "While there has been a significant amount of speculation on whether or not this is a sign of Takhisis' return, clerics of the temples of Mishakal and Kiri-Jolith tell us otherwise. We are also considering that this may be a new individual taking on the guise."
When asked about the Shadow Tower, Reven refused to comment, though he did say that patrols around the area had increased.
Though the Shadow Sorcerer has not been seen by officials since she murdered a Black Robe standing at the edge of the Shoikan Grove recently, her Shadow Tower appeared once again on Yule, causing fear for people celebrating Yule on the streets.
"I was walkin' wit' my babies to see their grandma when the sky just grew plum dark!" Marith Veir said. "I looked up, and there it was! A tower made of shadows, right in the middle of the day!"
"Divinations on the nature of the Shadow Sorcerer and her tower have failed, Red Robe historian Jaclyn Cashell said. "It's like she is a blind spot that we cannot see. We haven't ascertained what relation, if any, this tower has to the Tower of High Sorcery that once stood in its spot. We're trying to ascertain if its appearance on Yule holds any significance."
