Jousting Tournament Cancelled
by Heine Stick, Staff Writer
Hargoth - Sir Deon Fireblade announced yesterday that the jousting tournament he was set to host six days from now has been cancelled. Comments on the exact nature of the cancellation were sparse but the Knight of the Rose did say that illness within the family required his full attention and as such he would not be able to fulfill his duties as host.
The news of the cancellation comes as a shock to many Knights. "It's a shame!" said Sir Theobolt, Knight of the Crown. "I was certainly looking forward some a fun time with my friends and having a go at that mysterious prize. I've been very curious about that prize. Oh well, I hope that whoever is ill will be alright. Sir Fireblade lost his son during the War of Souls and I'd hate to see him lose another close family member!"
Sir Uth Matand echoed the dismay of his fellow Knight. "I've been practicing ever since the tournament was announced. I've never been sharper. And now the tournament is off. To be honest I find it odd that Sir Fireblade would give in so easily. After all we're talking about a cousin at best. Sir Fireblade lost his wife when she gave birth to their only child and his son fell during the battle in Sanction. This cousin or uncle or whatever must really be someone special."
A new tournament has not been announced and it is unknown whether Sir Fireblade will make any announcement in the near future. Sources from within Castle Fireblade report that he has not spoken to anyone since he made the announcement regarding the tournament being cancelled nor has he emerged from the castle chapel.
