349 AC stands for the three hundredth and forty-ninth year following the Cataclysm, during the Time of Darkness in the Age of Despair.

Events

  • The War of the Lance continues.
  • The Black Dragonarmy asserts its control over Balifor.
  • The Red Dragonarmy invades Silvanesti. The Silvanesti Campaign ends when King Lorac uses a Dragon Orb to stop the invasion. However it controls the elven king and causes his nightmares to manifest and corrupt the forest. Highlord Phair Caron is killed during the fighting, and the Red Dragonarmy flees the forest.
  • Dalamar discovers a black-robe mage's cave and begins to study darker magic.
  • The Dragonarmy captain Laronnar challenges his commander Dralon and kills him with the aid of the barmaid Kaelay. The captain is then promoted to commander.
  • The former Seeker Tarscenian enlists aid and brings about the destruction of Hederick's Seeker temple Erolydon.
  • Goldmoon receives a vision from her mother Tearsong and learns about the old gods. She and Riverwind declare their love for one another before returning to the Que-Shu tribe.
  • A band of adventurers foil a plot of Erestem to wipe out the good Othlorx of Taladas.
