Highmasters

Article written by Uziel

In the chain of command of the Dragonarmies, the Dragon Highlords reigned supreme. However under each of these great generals were the Highmasters, the lieutenants and aides who served the Highlords directly. There were anywhere from a single Highmaster to a platoon of them under each Highlord, and they served in roles such as field commanders, administrators, lieutenants or personal assistants.

In the chaotic Dragonarmies, the Highmasters were respected almost as much as the Highlords themselves and were the next in line to claim the title of Highlord, if one of the grand generals ever fell. Because of this, there were trust issues between the Highlords and their Highmasters, and oftentimes the lieutenants of the Highlords were replaced quickly if they fell out of favor.
