Born of the unlikely union of a Qualinesti elf maiden sorcerer and a Blood Oath Archer under the command of and of a similar attitude towards the elves, as Marshal Medan, Quenth Bowyer is a man of two hearts and two worlds. Both his parents perished in the battle that lead to the destruction of Beryl, the Green Menace. Orphaned at a young age (for elfkin), Quenth spent his earlier years taking after his father, learning the ways of the bow. He spent much of his time perfecting his skills at archery while hunting for food.
A few memories of his early life remain intact. His mother insisted upon his learning the ways of sorcery. But his true desire lay with his bow. Shortly after his parents death Quenth vowed to honor them and began searching for away to blend sorcery with archery. While traveling with the rest of the elven evacuees from Qualinost, he found what he was looking for.
Traveling with a group of younglings, the sick, and the elderly guarded by a platoon of guards from House Protector, they were ambushed by a group of goblins. After routing the goblins, the guards pressed the attack pursuing the goblins into their caves. Leaving the unsuspecting refugees resting in a tiny oasis.
Across the desert a Dark Knight cavalry unit saw their chance and began a single file charge. Spotting the Dark Knights Quenth realized he was the only one able to protect the group. Quenth send a young girl, the fastest amongst them, after the guards, while stringing his father's bow. With the bow strung he stood and cast a spell his mother had taught him, focusing his sight and acuity on the distant knights. "Okay I have mother's magic, so I might strike true, and father's bow" he thought to himself as he pulled back and let the arrow fly.
The arrow dropped 100 ft in front of the knights. "Oh no! The magic has failed" he said grapping his next arrow. Before he could fire again he saw a great bank of mist sprouting near his first shot. Not understanding or caring he fired again at the Dark Knights beyond the mist. Again the arrow missed its mark plunging into the ground near the center of the fog bank.
The Dark Knights, not to be stopped by a little fog pressed on, into the fog. The leader's horse promptly slipped on the now greasy ground sending his rider flying. This event repeated itself with each charging knight piling up on his proceeding brother knight.
When the elven guards returned and went to investigate they found the knights sprawled along the ground with several broken bones.
From that day forward, Quenth Bowyer has continued probing the border between magic and archery. The elven wizards have asked him to renounce the primal magic and embrace the godly magic of Solinari. Quenth listens politely but prefers a more direct access to the magic to the tedious book learning.
Having joined the Lioness' loyal band of warriors upon attaining adulthood, Quenth so far has been able to ignore the elves of House Mystic and has continued to prove himself in battle.
