Description:

Kylixillan resembles other auraks, he is tall and slender, with a short stubby tail and sharp teeth and claws. He normally wears a simple, midnight black robe. The only identifiable aspect of Kylixillan, is that his scales, once the colour of burnished gold, now appear duller and have lost their sheen.

Background:

Kylixillan was stationed in Storm's Keep with a contingent of other draconians under the control of Lord Ariakan, just prior to the Chaos War. While at the keep, Kylixillan managed to sneak a copy of "'Venture into the Twilight Folds", a rare tome by a long dead renegade mage during the Age of Dreams.

Before he could read even the first page of the tome, he and the other draconians were sent into Palanthus when the Knights of Takhisis took over the city during the latter days of the Chaos War.

While in Palanthus, Kylixillan used the impressive resources of the once mage friendly city to break the remaining enchantments that bound the tome, finally allowing him to study its pages.

By the end of the Chaos War, Kylixillan had managed to acquire the property of an unknown arcane spellcaster resident of Palanthus (as Kylixillan judged based on the materials and tomes he found within).

The tome that he stole proved to be a spellbook, of sorts. It allowed the reader who understood the arcane sigils and inscriptions to cast a strange form of magic, one unlike the innate form of magic he had within him, and different from the focused preparations need to cast the magic of High Sorcery and clerical magic. This magic used shadows, and, what is more within the dark magic-bereft days of the early Age of Mortals, it still worked!

Slowly, over the course of many years of study, Kylixillan has managed to become adept at using this magic of twilight, even to the extent of being able to use it affect the spells of sorcerers or mystics.

Personality:

Like most auraks, Kylixian is powerful and dangerous. He has a lust for power and intends to use this twilight magic (as he calls it) to further that end. He has witnessed enough of bureaucracy and politics to understand how the inferior minds work, giving him an edge when dealing with them.
