Description:

Zandar is a tall and well groomed individual. He likes to be pampered and treated as a lord, especially by the unfortunate apprentices that he teaches, he dresses in fine silken red robes, with gold and other precious materials sewn into it.

Background:

Zandar is a wizard who lives in the Wizard's Quarter in the Solamnic city of Maelgoth. Zandar was a promising wizard in his youth, but his attitude and unpleasant manners always made him somewhat of a loner. Once he pasted his Test he quickly returned to Maelgoth where he had built up a small mageware business.

Zandar is also a competent teacher and runs a wizard school within the city, but has a long running and bitter rivalry with the other main wizard school in Maelgoth, run by his White Robed rival Hennihoya.

Personality:

Zandar is an odious man, more concerned with profits and protecting his own reputation that anything else. He demands flattery and becomes sulky and insulted when he perceives that he is not being treated with the respect that he thinks he is due.

In Your Campaign:

Zandar can be a useful additional to any campaign. A group of adventures can bring any treasure that they have acquired whilst adventuring in the Northern Solamnia, to his mageware shop and receive fair prices for anything magical (canny PC's could use the rivalry between Zandar and Hennihoya to gain a more the good price by playing them off against each other). Arcane spellcasters could approach Zandar to join his wizard school. Roguish arcane spellcasters could be employed by Zandar to enlist in Hannihoya's wizard school and report back her current doings and dealings.
