Description

Standing at just over 5 feet tall, Santis is rather short and very slim. His eyes are green and he has dark brown hair. Even though Santis is still a young man, it is clear that he has experienced more than most of his peers.

Personality

Santis is a man obsessed with the thought of vengeance for the death of his mentor and an extreme sense of justice. He has no tolerance for those who break the laws of society and wrongdoers and he will go to great lengths to make sure that these people will be ounished for their crimes.

Santis has no need for social interaction and humor because he believes that the world is a dangerous place and life is too short to waste on such nonsense. As a consequence of this, Santis has very few friends, dedicating all his time to studying and to furthering the cause of good and the Legion of Steel.

Background

Santis was born 21 summers ago, the only child of peasant parents living on the outskirts of Haven in Abanasinia. His childhood was a pleasant one but when he entered his teens he began to show signs of magical prowess. His parents knew that their son needed guidance and, most importantly, someone to watch over him and so they sent Santis off to study with a friend of the family – former White Robe Teroz Ubengolt.

As the years went by Santis learned how to harness his magic and control it and he enjoyed it. To Santis there was nothing better than to study the arcane arts and he craved the knowledge his mentor poured into him. The young sorcerer would listen eagerly as his mentor told stories of the days of High Sorcery when magic was a rare gift only attained through studies and there was a sense of community.

Two years ago the life that he had led came to an abrupt and tragic end. While Santis was away drawing water, Ubengolt was brutally murdered by a former Black Robe and longtime rival. Santis arrived just in time to see the killer vanish in a flash of magic. Santis was devastated. His mentor was dead and the life which he had and which he loved had been ripped away along with his mentor. Santis swore that he would do whatever it took to avenge the death of Teroz Ubengolt and see justice happen.

Santis spent the next year traveling the world, seeking the power he knew was necessary for him to defeat Ubengolt's killer and it was during these travels that Zeke, a tiny pseudodragon, entered his life. The two have been inseparable ever since. Santis' travels led him to Palanthas and it was here that he finally found the man who had murdered his mentor in cold blood. Dorollas, as Santis had learned was his name, was apparently an influential man in Palanthas and he belonged to the high society of the Cityhome.

The young sorcerer spent the better part of a year infiltrating the same social circles that Dorollas frequented and then, waiting for the right moment, he confronted his mentor's killer and challenged him to a duel. The former Black Robe knew better than to face this new threat alone and so, after having accepted the challenge, he summoned a fiend well aware that he could not control it. Fortunately for Dorollas, his gamble paid off and the fiend attacked Santis.

Unbeknownst to Santis and Dorollas, two legionnaires, the half-elf ranger Kiranna and her draconian companion Hogaan, had been observing Dorollas for a while, investigating claims that he was involved in the kidnapping of citizens of Palanthas to be turned into dragonspawn by Khellendros himself. They stormed the chamber, killed the demon, and wounded Dorollas mortally.

Amazed by their willingness to save a person they'd never seen before and intrigued by the way they worked, Santis joined the Legion of Steel, feeling that the Legionnaires was the only true champions of justice in the world. He works hard to prove himself to the Legion of Steel and he feels that he has finally found a home.

In Your Campaign

Santis can be used as a Legionnaire ally for the player characters. Even though he does not have any levels in the Legion prestige classes, he is a member of the organization and he works to further their cause and to bring justice to the world.
