Description:

Nomscul is considered to be virile among gully dwarves. He has a pot belly, large ears, dark bags under his eyes and serveral teeth missing. His stringy hair is now flecked with the first signs of grey. He has a scruffy, stubbly shin and a wispy moustache.

Background:

Just before the War of The Lance, Flint Fireforge journeyed to Thorbardin and was rescued from a beast pit by the gully dwarves of Mudhole and proclaimed their King.

Nomscul was the chief shaman and healer who had remembered a prophecy (or property, as he called it) that a King and Queen would descend from mud, which Flint and Perian (unfortunately for them) fulfilled. Flint gave him his title, which being longer than 'King', made Nomscul very a important gully dwarf. It was under Flint and Perian's tutelege that Nomscul first joined the ranks of the "agharpulters", a fighting band of aghar that flung themselves at the enemy. Nomscul took part in the Battle of Hillhome, fighting alongside Flint and Perian. When Perian was killed, Nomscul became the King of Mudhole as Flint couldn't continue being the King without a Queen. Fester, Nomscul's longtime consort and weighty lady to Perian, becoming Nomscul's Queen.

For more than two years, Nomscul was the "Best Cook, Chief Shaman and Queen's First Husband" of Mudhole. During the War of the Lance, Nomscul took part in many of the skirmishes that took place in and around Thorbardin.

After the War of the Lance, Nomscul was initiated into the faithful ranks of Reorx as one of his clerics. Although he could now cast spells, he still relies heavily on his bag of dust, which he waves in the air or hits to cause "magical effects" like trying to get other gully dwarves to stand still and listen.

During the Summer of Chaos, Nomscul helped to defend the gully dwarves of Mudhole from the invasion forces of Chaos, and with the aid of his former wife, Fester, and the sacrifice of his medallion of faith, killed a Daemon Warrior.

During the early part of the Age of Mortals, Nosmcul was aware of the absence of Reorx and remained true to his teachings, even turning down an offer to learn the mystic arts from the nephew of Flint Fireforge, Jasper Fireforge, when Nomscul had travelled to Hillhome in search of "good rats for stew".

When the True Gods returned after the War of Souls, an aspect of Reorx walked among the dwarves of Thorbardin and came to the gully dwarves of Mudhole. Hearing the bravery, sacrifice and faith that Nomscul had, gave Nomscul a new specialty madallion of faith and restored his spellcasting ability. Nomscul currently acts as the spiritual advisor and chief shaman to the beleaguered gully dwarves of Mudhole, to the current, King Flunk III.

Personality:

Nomscul is a brave leader of the gully dwarves who takes care of his people. He at first lead them as their king, and then later after joinging the ranks of the faithful of Reorx, as a more spiritual leader. Nomscul is used to having his orders followed.

In Your Campaign:

Nomscul could be used in your campaign as a source of healing herbs and other such materials, his knowledge of the best pickings from all of the food warrens of Thorbardin (which is second-to-none) and from as far afield as Hillhome. Failing that, a gully dwarf character might seek out Nomscul to be initiated as a cleric of Reorx or even into the agharpulters.
