Tarli Half-Kender appears as if he is a small human boy, perhaps in his early teens. His eyes are clear and innocent, but thoughtful. His face shows of premature wrinkles. Tarli's ears look to be human. Tarli's hear falls over his forehead in a tangle. he does not wear a topknot.
Tarli wears a baggy jerkin and faded breeches. When he becomes a cleric, he will wear brown clerical robes with the hood cut off.
Tarli acts very much like a kender, although he has a serious side as well. Tarli knows he doesn't fit in always due to his heritage.
Tarli cares very much for both his late mother and his father. He always sticks up for the underdog.

Tarli's is the son of Loraine, a Kender woman, and Moran, a Solamnic Knight. Moran brought the body of a comrade home, and had Loraine make a proper funeral outfit for his friend. Loraine did not appear or act like a Kender. Moran fell in love with her, and they spent the summer together. She left after becoming pregnant. It would be 18 years before Moran knew he had a son.
Eighteen years later after Loraine died, her son Tarli sought out his father, Moran. He trained to become a Solamnic Knight, but showed that he was not knightly material. Moran figured out that Tarli was his son towards the end of his training. Tarli did not make the cut as a Solamnic Knight, but Moran suggested that he become a cleric.
It was towards the end of Tarli's training that he invented the Hoopak, which he would eventually introduce to the Kender.
Prior to the Cataclysm, Tarli was told by the gods that the Cataclysm was going to happen, and it would be to the west. He led a group of Kender to go see it, but it turns out that the gods lied in order to protect the Kender from the destruction. Tarli and his group of Kender didn't believe in the gods anymore, since they had lied.

Tarli's clerical skills are presented here in case he is used before the Cataclysm. After the Cataclysm, he has no clerical abilities, due to the Cataclysm and his loss of faith in the gods.
