D&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rules
Aurak draconians are powerful and highly dangerous dragonmen who make extensive use of magic and spell-like abilities. Aurak draconians are tall and slender, standing between 6-1/2 and 7 feet in height at adulthood, with no distinguishing characteristics between males and females. They have short, stubby tails and long, sharp fangs. Unlike other draconians, they have no wings. Aurak scales are bright gold upon hatching, dulling somewhat with maturity. Their eyes are red, green, or black.
Aurak draconians wear robes or decorate their bodies to indicate rank and superiority. If necessary, they use spells or their innate powers to take whatever disguise suits their needs. As the rarest of draconians, auraks have never been known to congregate in large numbers-though they are often found as part of a larger group of draconians. They are both respected and feared by their fellows.
Starting Ability Score Adjustments: +2 Dex. Aurak draconians are more agile than average.
Dragon Traits (Ex): Immune to sleep and paralysis effects, darkvision 120 ft., low-light vision, blindsense 60 ft., scent 60 ft.
Disease Immunity (Ex): Draconians are immune to all diseases.
Inspired by Dragons (Ex): Draconians are drawn to evil dragons and revere them. When under the command of a dragon, draconians receive a +1 morale bonus on all attack rolls and saving throws.
Low Metabolism (Ex): Draconians can survive on one-tenth the food and water it takes to sustain a human.
Natural Attacks: Auraks have a claw attack that deals 1d4 points of damage. Auraks also have the ability to generate rays of force energy from each of their hands. The ray has a 60-foot range, and the aurak must make a touch attack to hit. This ray deals damage equal to 1d8 plus the aurak's Charisma modifier. When using its disguise self ability, an aurak appears to be using a weapon appropriate to its form when it uses this ability.
Speed: Aurak draconian land speed is 30 feet.
Automatic Languages: Draconic.
Favored Class: Aurak draconian. The best multiclassing choice for an aurak draconian is sorcerer.
The aurak draconian's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Concentration (Con), Diplomacy (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (arcana) (Int), Listen (Wis), Search (Int), Spellcraft (Int), and Spot (Wis).
All of the following are class features of the aurak draconian class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Aurak draconians are proficient with their claws and energy rays, and all simple weapons, but not with any shields or armor.
Feats: An aurak draconian receives one feat at 1st level. He or she gains additional feats at 5th and 9th level. After 12th level, he or she gains feats normally according to his or her character level.
Natural Armor: Starting at 2nd level, an aurak draconian has a natural armor bonus equal to half its level, rounded down.
Alternate Form (Su): Starting at 4th level, a male aurak can assume any humanoid form of Medium or Small size as a standard action once per day. This increases to twice per day at 8th level and three times per day at 12th level. This ability functions as a polymorph spell cast on itself by a sorcerer of its class level - 3, except that the aurak does not regain hit points for changing form and can only assume the form of an humanoid. The aurak can remain in its humanoid form until it chooses to assume a new one or return to its natural form.
Breath Weapon (Su): Starting at 4th level, an aurak can breathe a noxious cloud in a 4-foot cone once per day. Any victim caught in the cloud is dealt 1d4 points of temporary Strength damage and blinded for 1d4 rounds. A Fortitude save with a DC equal to 1/2 the aurak's Hit Dice, plus 10, plus his or her Charisma modifier, negates this damage. This ability can be used twice per day at 8th level and three times per day at 12th level.
Death Throes (Su): Beginning at 4th level, when an aurak dies, it explodes in a blast of magical energy. This blast deals 1d6 points of damage to all creatures within 5 feet of the aurak, which increases to 2d6 at 8th level, and 3d6 at 12th level. Affected creatures can make a Reflex save with a DC equal to 10 + 1/2 the aurak's Hit Dice + the aurak's Charisma modifier for half damage.
Spell-Like Abilities: The aurak draconian's dimensional step, disguise self, dominate person, greater invisibility, and suggestion abilities have a caster level equal to the character's Hit Dice from class levels. The aurak's dimensional step ability functions exactly like the dimension door spell except that it has a range of 60 feet and the aurak can only transport himself or herself and items carried. The disguise self ability can be used to make the aurak resemble an individual humanoid and to perfectly imitate its voice. The effect only lasts for 2d6+6 minutes and is limited to any humanoid the aurak has ever seen.
Spells: Starting at 5th level, and in addition to its innate spell-like abilities, an aurak casts spells as a sorcerer of a level equal to its class levels - 4.
Spell Resistance: Beginning at 6th level, an aurak draconian has spell resistance equal to 8 + class level.
