Platinum Mystic

After the Chaos War, when the gods left their beloved people in order to save Krynn from Chaos, mysticism was discovered. Goldmoon led the Citadel Mystics in learning the Powers of the Heart and remembering the old ways of the Gods. A small sect of these mystics led by the former hierarchy of the Church of Paladine searched at length for the spark of divine nobility in each mortal soul. The spark caught fire in the hearts of the Platinum Mystics.

With the return of the gods and subsequent sacrifice of Paladine after the War of Souls, those Platinum Mystics who would have converted back to the Church continue their nurturing and support of nobility in the hearts and minds of men, elves, kender, and all creatures of Krynn. These Platinum Mystics have devoted themselves to the teachings and example of Paladine.

Obviously mystics are the class most likely to adopt the ways of the Platinum Mystics. However, noble/mystics and fighter/mystics are a common multiclass option.

Skills: Knowledge (religion) 10, Knowledge (nobility) 5, Knowledge (history) 5, Spellcraft 10
Feat: Skill Focus: Knowledge (religion)
Spellcasting: Must be able to spontaneously cast 3rd level divine spells.
Patron Deity: None (due to Paladine's sacrifice)
Special: Must have chosen one of the following as original domain: Sun, Law, Good, Nobility, Protection.

Class Skills

The Platinum Mystic's class skills are Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Knowledge (arcana, religion, nobility, history, the planes) (Int), and Spellcraft (Int).

Skill Points at Each Level: 2 + Int modifier.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Platinum Mystic prestige class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Platinum Mystic gains no proficiency with any weapon, armor, or shield.

Bonus Domain (Su): Through inner contemplation and meditation of the ideals and teachings of Paladine, a Platinum Mystic gains acces to another domain formerly granted by Paladine at 1st level.

Turn Undead (Su): If a Platinum Mystic has access to the Sun domain, she adds her Platinum Mystic levels to her mystic level for all checks related to turning undead. This also applies if the Platinum Mystic adds Sun through the bonus domain granted at 1st level.

Draconic Charisma (Su): At 3rd level, Platinum Mystics receive a +2 sacred bonus on all Charisma-based checks when dealing with any creature with the dragon type.

Sacrifice (Su): Contemplation and veneration of the sacrifices made by Paladine have lead the Platinum Mystics to the discovery of the power of self-sacrifice. At 2nd level a Platinum Mystic may sacrifice Constitution ability points in order to heal wounds in others. This works just like a paladin's lay on hands ability, except that the number of Constitution points sacrifice is the Platinum Mystic's effective paladin level. For example a Platinum Mystic may choose to take 3 points of Con damage in order to Lay on Hands as a 3rd level paladin.

At 4th level, a Platinum Mystic has learned to harness the power of self-sacrifice to smite her foes. By taking temporary Constitution damage a Platinum Mystic may gain the Smite Evil ability of a paladin whose level equals the number of points sacrificed. Good Platinum Mystics smite evil, while lawful neutral Platinum Mystics smite chaos. In all other ways this functions as Smite Evil, per the paladin class ability.

At 2nd level, these abilities are usable 2 times per day. At 4th level, they are available 4 times per day. The CON damage taken may be healed in the normal ways.

Platinum's Resilience: At 5th level, a Platinum Mystic adds stoneskin to her spells known as a bonus 5th-level spell. This spell works as normal except that instead of a stone skin, the skin is silvery and metallic resembling platinum.
