At first glance this vaguely humanoid creature is completely covered with large irregular black scale armor, it must be armor the way it rattles when it moves. Yet it seems to be part of the creature. The only features you can make out under the plates are it's wide maw full of wicked teeth and two beady eyes staring out from under the plates on its head. When it sees you it starts to shake, the rattling of it's armor carrys with it the sounds of the forsaken nails breaking off on slate, the gnashing of teeth and the wailing of the damned.

Spawned by the Father of All and Nothing to destroy the children of the true gods. Like other minions of Chaos the discord daemon is a creature that shouldn't exist but does. Durring the Summer of Chaos these creatures were seen, and more often heard, in the thick of battle turning brother against brother, making these unfortunate souls easy pickings for other minions of Chaos. Those who survived battles against discord daemons are still haunted by the terrible sounds that they generated. Horrible maddening sounds that bite into one's very soul. Discord daemons seem to have a particular hate for focused spellcasters, perhaps the Father of All and of Nothing spawned them for that purpose, but that is just speculation, regardless the discord daemon's special abilities make them well suited for killing spellcasters, which they do with near reckless abandon. In the Age of Mortals, like other minions of Chaos, they retreated to the dark corners of Krynn, searching and waiting. Those that have encountered them since the Summer of Chaos have noticed that discord daemons strangely ignore those who wield chaos tainted magic. Also of note is the theory presented by one Astetic that these creatures may have damaged and infused the harmonics of the world with chaos, explaining how some can channel primal magic through song and music.

Discord daemons stand nearly 7 feet tall and are lean, entirely covered with loose fitting metal scales that grow out of their skin, these act as an effective armor and also seem to be intrical in generating their aura of pandemonium. Almost all discord daemons carry heavy flails almost to exclusion, though some are seen with light flails and others, typically more powerful and larger ones use spiked chains, presumably because these weapons make noise when used.

Combat

Any weapon a discord daemon wields as well as their natural attacks are considered chaotic for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. Discord daemons live for two things, to cause strife and to kill focused casters. In combat they tend to activate their aura of pandemonium and use their spell-like abilities to turn opponents against one another. Usually the first round they'll use song of discord, after that they'll try to neutralize focused spellcasters by inflicting confusion upon them. Once this is done they wade in to squash spellcasters with their heavy flail. Any melee characters attempting to get in the way are blasted with sonic scream, tripped or disarmed. Discord daemons have a tendancy to completely ignore primal casters, such as sorcerers, mystics, and bards until all other opponents are dealt with, they are chaotic by nature however and this is only a tendancy.

Aura of Pandemonium (Su): At will a discord daemon can cause a hellspawned racket to erupt from their bodies. This noise, which is a mixture of the most horrid sounds imaginable, requires any in a 30 foot radius from the discord daemon to make a Concentration check DC 15 to cast spells, activate supernatural abilities, or activate magical items that would normally require a Concentration check in melee combat. A -15 Listen check penelty is also suffered by any inside the aura of pandemonium to notice anything outside of the area of effect. Stuffing one's ears or being deaf shields one from aura of pandemonium but incurs normal penalties for doing so.

Sonic Scream (Su): As the spell shout cast by a 10th level bard, usable once ever 1d4 rounds.

Spell-Like Abilities: At will-lesser confusion DC 14, 3/day-confusion DC 16, rage, 1/day-song of discord DC 17. Caster level 10th.

Skills: Discord daemons have a racial -15 Listen and Move Silently penalty as they cannot move without making noise, and their own special abilities have long since ruined their hearing, this penalty stacks with the effects of aura of pandemonium.
