Knights of Solamnia

by Tracy Hickman

For the first time published anywhere ... the famous "Knights of Solamnia" (to the BeeGee's 'Saturday Night Fever' tune 'Nights on Broadway' ... or is that 'Lights on Broadway' ... I could never understand what those BeeGees were saying...)

There you are (ba-dum-dum-dum)
In the depths of a dun-geon
Staring in the dark (ba-dum-dum-dum)
At the eyes of a dra-gon
That dragon may follow you...
Though you may not want him to...
And he'll cook your buns for stew...
So draw swords and say....

Slayin' 'em all!
Are the Knights of Solamnia...
Singin' that sweet sound.
Singin' that hack and slay and slash sound
Slayin' 'em all!
Are the Knights of Solamnia...
Singin' that sweet sound.
Singin' that hack and slay and slash sound!

There you are (ba-dum-dum-dum)
In a Temple of I-star
Calling on the gods (ba-dum-dum-dum)
But their answer is me-teor!
The pe-ople won't follow you!
Though you really want them to...
And they'll cook your buns for stew...
So draw swords and say...

Slayin' em all! ... (etc through chorus)

(All of the above is to be sung in a sickeningly nasal tone a full octave above any reasonable range.)

Perhaps I'll have to dig out my old "I'm goin' with Raistlin; Raistin, Raistlin Ma-je-re; I'm goin' with Raistlin..." sung to the tune of Paul Simon's 'Graceland' ... on second thought, perhaps not...

The music on the Dragonlance Nexus is presented in the MIDI file format. You will need MIDI-capable software to listen to the selections in the Music & Songs section. We recommend either the QuickTime Player or the Windows Media Player.
