You've Lost That Fourth Age Feelin'

by Tracy Hickman

(to the tune of 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin') - written at GenCon 2001!

I told the crowd that, at the risk of being even more divisive about the whole 4th Age vs. 5th Age thing, I had a new song to sing for them this year. I'll share the lyrics with you here ... the tune should be familiar.

YOU'VE LOST THAT FOURTH AGE FEELIN'

The Clerics don't cast spells anymore
Since the gods have quit.
And High Sorcery ain't the same
Since the moons have split!
Though Weis and Hickman don't show it,
Baby, we think they have blown it!

(CHORUS)

You've Lost that Fourth Age Feelin'
Woah, that Fourth Age Feelin'
You've Lost that Fourth Age Feelin'
And it's gone, gone, gone... Woah!

(Much to my amazement and delight ... the entire audience joined in on the chorus ... and even provided the riff bridge to the second verse!)

The Heros of the Lance are too old
Anymore to kiss.
And that Raistlin Mage
He's a sleep in the cold Abyss.
That King Gilthanis is too soft
And Lord Soth's retired to Ravenloft!

(CHORUS)

You've Lost that Fourth Age Feelin'
Woah, that Fourth Age Feelin'
You've Lost that Fourth Age Feelin'
And it's gone, gone, gone... Woah!

The music on the Dragonlance Nexus is presented in the MIDI file format. You will need MIDI-capable software to listen to the selections in the Music & Songs section. We recommend either the QuickTime Player or the Windows Media Player.
