Submit Your Work

Want to submit work? Great! We're always looking for submissions of new material. The process involves three easy steps:

  1. Read the general guidelines.
  2. Read the guidelines appropriate for your submission—if you're submitting fan art, click the fan art heading to see the additional guidelines for the fan art section.
  3. Click the 'Ready to Submit' link at the bottom of this page, which contains directions on how to start the submission process. You will fill out a form over the course of several pages with your personal information as well as information about your submission.

General Guidelines

As with a publication of any sort, there are some general rules to bear in mind before submitting anything to the Dragonlance Nexus for publication. These guidelines are in place to make our lives easier—for the most part—but we also hope that by giving you an idea of what we're expecting to receive, we can help focus your own efforts with your submission being better for it.

Please give our editors some time to read and discuss your submission, and try to be patient. We operate on a first-come first-serve basis, but the volume of submissions could mean you might get a response in as little as a week or as much as a month. (We try our best to make sure to at least get you a response within two weeks.)

If you have any suggestions on the matter of presentation, please feel free to make them. We may or may not use any of your suggestions, but at the end of the day you're the person who knows the intent of the material best. If we can accommodate your ideas without making a lot of work for ourselves, we'll try to do so.

We also ask that all contributors read and agree to our Publication Policy, available on the first page of the submission process. Your submission should also comply with the Wizards of the Coast Standards of Content.

File Format

Except for the fan art and fan music sections of the web site, if you want send us an email with your submission attached to it, the following rules apply. We currently accept files only in one of the following formats: Microsoft Word (doc), Rich Text (rtf) or plain text (txt). Other formats, such as WordPerfect (wps), Microsoft Works, or other word-processing programs will be rejected at the discretion of the editor. (Files in ZIP archives to reduce file size are acceptable as long as the compressed file is one of the allowed formats.) Specific guidelines are detailed below.

Section Guidelines

In addition to the general guidelines, please read the following guidelines appropriate to the section of the site where you are considering sending your submission. Click any heading to see the guidelines for that section.
